I have been waiting to post these images for quite sometime.
I am so happy to be able to finally have the time to share them with you guys! Chance Faulker, has to be hands down one of my most favorite people on the planet. I met Chance, about 2.5 years ago when we were both doing a discipleship training school in Germany, through Youth With A Mission. We were apart of a photography school there were I helped teach some of the lectures and workshops to my fellow students. No far into the program I felt like everywhere I went I was being followed, not in a bad way but someone was keeping a close eye on what I was doing every time I picked up a camera, it was Chance. I don’t know how many questions he asked but wow this kid wanted to know everything and anything about photography. It was so heart warming to see someone so passionate about it. Soon enough I caved in and started letting him hang out with me, haha, and started to get to know this 18 year old boy from Ontario. My life was changed forever! We had some good times and crazy adventures around Germany and soon enough I found out how blessed I was that HE was letting me hang out with him! I can’t thank Chance enough for being a positive male figure in my life! The big-little brother that I never had. So you can imagine how excited I was when he contacted me about coming out to North Carolina where he is presently doing a 9 month Bible school. The catch, he wanted me to photograph the proposal and engagements of him and his fiancee to be Mary Austin Slate. I was a bit nervous for several reasons, one being I had never photographed a proposal before, but more importantly, WHO WAS THIS GIRL THAT STOLE CHANCE FAULKNER’S HEART? I was so scared that I wouldn’t like her and I would have to pretend to approve of her, then I stopped and remembered who Chance is and breathed a sigh of relief knowing the girl he chose to marry would be FREAKING AWESOME!
AND SHE IS. Mary Austin Slate you have stolen my heart as well! A beautiful girl with a passion for the Lord and to love those around her. I was so excited we got a long so well and had an amazing time out in North Carolina for a week with the couple. I am beyond excited to be able to photograph their June wedding in Lake Lure, North Carolina. I have been to the venue and knowing MA’s style, its going to be BEAUTIFUL.
Chance- Thank you for your support and encouragement these past years, you are truly the brother I never had.
Mary Austin- Thank you for welcoming me into your heart and life and being the best future Mrs. Faulkner ever. I am so jealous you get to be Canadian! I love you girlie!
One more shout out for this post. Thank you Cambria Clarke and Sierra Bothof for being my #1 blog fans and keeping me encouraged to get these shoots up here. I love you girls! And now for your viewing pleasure I bring you the proposal..

Another post in one week! I am on a roll! I have a little bit of time off before the season really kicks in so I have been able to spend some time at the computer getting stuff in order. It feels good!
Today’s post features Tara and Trevor. I have known Tara since I was in 6th grade. We became friends during our PE class and I had remember thinking she was so cool when we went to 6th grade camp because she had 9 beanie babies and I only had 2 at the time. I was determined to be her friend because of that! During our time at Pershing Middle School we had many more classes together and became really good friends which continued through our days at Patrick Henry High as well. We were crazy girls back then, and it was SO awesome to reminisce through those old stories during the day! I hadn’t seen Tara since our graduation in 2003, so it was awesome to connect on where our lives had taken us since then! It was such a pleasure to meet Trevor. They have been together for 7 years, they met on their college campus of Chapman University in Orange, Ca. So it only seemed fitting to go back to their Alma Matter and do their engagements there! We had a great time wandering thru memory lane and I am SO stoked to go to Portland this summer to capture their big day.

Back in January I had the pleasure of photographing engagements for Lauren and Justin. We had a lovely afternoon wandering around Balboa Park, then we headed down to Cornoado Island to do some sunset shots. I just love this couple! I had such an awesome time getting to know them. We were even able to sneak over to where the ceremony is being held to get a sneak peak. I love being able to check out the venues before the actual wedding day! I can’t wait for their June wedding. I know its going to be a beautiful day filled with God’s love!
